Self Identity
(personal uniqueness / individuality)

A good first step to gaining Self Identity can come from Being Natural. It can be an important part of a strong foundation of self knowledge. It can give insight into others and lend itself to empathy.

This section contains information and views that aim to clarify perception during human interaction by increasing self-awareness and the awareness of others. The notes posted here are based on personal experience and partially on a fascinating term known as Laran (created by Marion Zimmer Bradley). These notes are of an on-going process of development. I hope it lends a hand in the formation of new realizations and the strengthening of mind.

Laran Events - (empathic encounters / emotional happenings / telepathic connection)

I feel it therefore it's mine?   -   not necessarily.

Being aware of your awareness.

     - Laran events happen in a first person perspective and are easy to mistake as being your own. (think before you act)
     - It is difficult to know whether or not it's yours because of the lack of identity.
     - The better you know yourself (i.e. the stronger your own identity) the more likely you will be to recognize when an external event is taking place.
     - When an emotion and/or thought pattern comes across it won't necessarily have a name attached to it.
     - Because of this lack of identity the mind will try to create reasons for the emotion / thought pattern's existence and put personal experience with it in an effort to understand it. Failing to notice these happenings can cause people to act on something they normally might not do.

EXAMPLE 1:
Let's say you have not been afraid of undressing in a change room with other people. For some reason as you are changing you have this surge of fear. There is a high possibility that someone else in the change room is afraid and you are just picking it up, but since this type of thought might not have normally occured to you your mind may create a reason for this fears existence. Like maybe you aren't so sure of your stance on undressing in public (because of such and such..). You might just accept this and hurrily in a half panic get changed and then possibly even decide you don't want to go to public change rooms anymore.

EXAMPLE 2:

Teaching Yourself
Learning how to notice these happenings can be a challenge.

It starts with knowing yourself and your normal state of mind / emotions. Recognizing when it has subtly altered and stopping to reflect on what you were just thinking. Retracing the steps you took in your mind as you thought from one thing to another. Remembering how you felt each step of the way on your 'thought journey'. Taking note of any out of character states and at what point the out of character state began. Determining who your thoughts were on just prior to / while the out of the ordinary state was occuring. Recognizing that an event has indeed taken place. Reviewing everything again to see if there's a noticeable pattern. Setting a flag in an effort to notice earlier and better for next time.

     Learning how to inpterpret it.

If you were able to recognize who your thoughts were on when your thought pattern / emotional state changed, further review of the path your thoughts took from that point on and the emotional state / presense that began forming will give you a good indication of the state that person is in and perhaps their circumstance.

Just a few notes so far ..
This is on-going and will slowly come together. __________________________________________________________
